Welcome to our latest blog as we share our thoughts on the benefits of being in nature and how we are helping family and friends to stay connected.
In a time of change and uncertainty it is reassuring to look around us and watch the cycle of nature continuing undisturbed, providing a reliable anchor during unsettled times.
As we adjust to new routines in our day to day lives many of us have found solace in nature as we re-evaluate what is important to us.
The following quote by the poet and philosopher, Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862) provides a reminder of the power of nature on our wellbeing and still has relevance today:
“I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees”.
We are always encouraged by the positive feedback from our regular visitors to the Park; some sit and reflect in our peaceful habitats, others walk the pathways with their dog or simply enjoy the silence, often interrupted by the sounds of nature!
Whilst we recognise the significance nature plays in our lives we are continuing to adapt the services we offer to families in response to Covid 19. Families are faced with additional emotional strain imposed by the rules limiting the number of people who can attend a funeral.
As a result we have introduced a live streaming service recognising how important it is for family and friends, who are unable to attend a funeral in the Cedar Hall, to feel connected in some way and part of the service.
There is also the option of creating an on-line tribute site in memory of a loved one hosted by MuchLoved, the award winning memorial website.

As well as including a funeral notice, the site can be used to collect funeral donations, post messages of condolence and light remembrance candles. Life stories, picture galleries, timeline entries, music and video clips can also be added. This type of tribute can help family and friends share their memories together in one place.
