There are occasions when distance, health or other circumstances can stop some family and friends from attending a funeral to say goodbye and pay their respects. Live streaming a funeral allows those who are unable to attend the opportunity to participate, say goodbye and watch the funeral for themselves in real time, over the internet from anywhere in the world.
As we continue to adapt our lives to the coronavirus situation, the guidance is that attendance at funeral services be limited to the closest family members to avoid large gatherings that may exacerbate the spread of the virus. Physical separation is now more important than ever and to protect our loved ones who are at risk.
We are currently using Zoom to connect families together during the current social distancing measures due to COVID-19. Zoom allows your family to view the service of your loved one who has sadly passed away. Although live streaming our moment to say goodbye feels unfamiliar and maybe a little impersonal, the technology is in place and provides a risk-free alternative to large social gatherings.
For those people attending a funeral, the addition of our external audio system will allow you to be part of the funeral service whilst being socially distant outside given that seating is limited to 20 people in the Cedar hall.
We are doing everything we can during this difficult time to keep families connected and able to say goodbye to the people they love.
